What's New
| October 2007 |
Site artist John Gibbons has a one man show opening at Flowers Central in Cork Street, London. Featuring a range of new, small scale works in steel with, in many cases, added colour, the show runs from 10 October to 3 November 2007. The latest work develops a recent trend in John Gibbons' work towards objects that completely enclose a space, allowing no access to their interiors. The addition of either formal bands or looser areas of colour brings a new layer of content to the already highly expressive forms. |

Site artist, Steve Bunn has just installed a new, sculptural drinking fountain in Meanwhile Gardens in North Kensington. The arrangement of morphed bottle forms in cast and painted aluminum uses the language of cartoons to make reference to the athletic twists, leaps and turns performed by the fountain's predominantly young users at the nearby skateboarding arena. By obliquely poking fun at the site's history of littering problems, the sculptural elements of the fountain also challenge those who drink from it to dispose of their litter more responsibly. |
